Christina Borbely PhD [“borbay”], specializes in translating research science into developmentally relevant and culturally competent practice. Her work provides direct training and expertise to public and private sector agencies, and administrations, as well as disseminates curricula, research resources, and reports to the field. With an emphasis on real world application of behavioral and mental health sciences, Dr. Borbely is a committed partner on a spectrum of projects. Her passion is working with communities to promote the wellbeing of all children and youth. Her roles include leadership and support to state and federal infrastructure and policy initiatives' professional development and resources centers. She served as project director for SAMHSA’s national mental health and violence prevention initiatives; and regional Mental Health Technology Center; and was a core expert for technical assistance centers of the USDE’s Safe Schools Healthy Students, California’s Safe and Drug Free Schools, and California's Alliance for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Service. Through California Department of Education and the California Community College Chancellor’s Office, she developed and advised on multi-tiered systems of cross-sector supports to raise awareness and accountability for promoting emotional and behavioral safety and wellness. Dr. Borbely also serves as evaluation lead and data analyst for various programs, grant initiatives, and campaigns.
